No reason to stay?

Jeffrey Sachs makes a grim recommendation about Iraq: the Unites States has nothing to gain from staying, everything to lose--the military should withdraw (On the program "On the Point"). The war will drain capital and political authority. Furthermore, a continuing occupation may only delay an inevitable civil war. I do not agree with Sachs, but his pragmatism reveals what the costs of staying in Iraq will be.
