Quick Iraq update: one of the "oppressed" minorities is calling for the US to leave and for the establishment of an "Islamic" state (see the Iraq roundup.) Is there some danger that Iraq will become more like Pakistan: less hospitable to Americans? I fear that this might be the case. Of course, Bush will only make matters worse if he denies the entry of aid into Iraq and the assistance of the UN (you know, the force that is not the policeman for the world.)
